The Wexford Panthers U11 Girls team started the 2008 Outdoor season becoming the West Rouge Challenge Champions.  The Panthers opened the tournament with a 7-1 win over the new Ajax Panthers squad.  The second group stage game saw the Panthers take on long-time rivals Scarborough Blizzard in a close 2-1 win to take first place in Group B.  The first play-off game had the Panthers take on a familiar opponent in the Ajax Hornets.  The game was tied 1-1 after full time and went right into shoot-out.  The Panthers scored on each of their shots to take them into the finals against the Darlington Fusion.  In the finals the Panthers staked an early 2 goal lead but the Fusion fought back to tie the game with only minutes before the final whistle.  After a scoreless extra time the Panthers went on to win in penalty shots again.  Congratulations to both the Fusion and Panthers for an exciting final!!!
